Nov 16, 2018 Cisco Wireless Controller Configuration Guide, Release 8.5 Jul 23, 2020 Configuring RADIUS Authentication in Windows Server 2016
The privious wirelss admin left our company and didn't let the other know the Radius shared secret key on the 5508 WLC. The 5508 WLC is running on code 126.96.36.199. I can access the WLC viao CLI and GUI. I can also access the Win2003 Radius server but the key shows asterisk to me. I have listed partial Radius config of the WLC below.
RADIUS Server (RADIUS Authentication) and How it Works
You now can save the configured RADIUS shared secret (encryption) key to a configuration file by entering the following commands: HP Switch(config)# radius-server
The shared secret between a RADIUS server and a NAS (network access server - in your case the switch) serves several purposes: For many RADIUS messages, it provides an assurance that the message is from a NAS/RADIUS that has the same shared secret. It ensures that the RADIUS message has not been changed in transit. Note: RADIUS access request messages for a Splash Page will be sourced from Dashboard, not from the local Meraki devices. As such, the RADIUS server's private LAN IP address cannot be specified here.
